Capability
The Cable Import allows the User to INSERT new records or UPDATE existing Cable records if a match is found.
Matches On
The Cable Import matches on the Cable Name field.

Datatype is String.
Cable Owner
Conditionally Required for INSERT.
Datatype is String.
Permitted values are from the CABLE_OWNER List Values : Customer, and Telephone Company.
Blank values are NOT allowed.
Cable Type
Conditionally Required for INSERT.
Datatype is String.
Permitted values are from the CABLE_TYPE List Values : Fiber and Copper.
Any values added by a User to the CABLE_TYPE list can also be used.
Description
Datatype is String.
Default value is blank.
Length (ft)
Datatype is String.
Default value is blank.
Signal Loss
Datatype is String.
Default value is blank.
Child Records
There are no Child records for this Import. Pairs/Strands could be considered a Child of Cable. However, those are handled with a separate Pair/Strand Import.
Errors
The following errors appear if the the Cable Import INSERT or UPDATE fails:
Error : Cable Name is blank or missing
Error : Failed to save Cable record; <errorMessage>
This error stops the import. No records will UPDATE or INSERT until corrections are made.
Value not present in LISTS table for <Field Name>, value ("<value not permitted>")
