Class of Service
The 'Class of Service' grid operates on the same principles as the Service Hosts grid. The items on this grid populate the drop-down options that users can select when they encounter a Class of Service field within the application. Class of service typically denotes the properties (local calling only, international, etc.) associated with an Authorization Code on Phone services
Note: Class of Service is currently only used when creating Auth Code type services.
Accordingly, Admin Users can manage the items on these lists by adding and removing items from the Class of Service grid. Admin Users can also edit existing items.
In any case, the items on the Class of Service grid describe different classifications of Auth Codes that can be assigned when creating a new Auth Code type service in PCR-360.
Adding a Class of Service
Navigate to Admin > System Tables > Class of Service.
To add a new Class of Service to the grid, click the button located immediately above the grid.
This will open the 'Add New Classes of Service' form.
In the form the User is prompted to define just two Required fields: Code and Description.
Admin Users can enter any alphanumeric Code that does not already refer to an existing class of service.
The Description is the text that Users will see upon accessing a Class of Service drop-down list.
Saving the New Class of Service
Once all required fields have been satisfied, click the button located at the bottom of the Class of Service data entry form. The new Class of Service will appear as an item on the original Class of Service grid and will be available as a selection whenever a 'Class of Service' field is encountered throughout the application.
Editing Existing Classes of Service
Admin Users can edit classes of service by double-clicking on any item on the Class of Service grid or by selecting an item and clicking the button located immediately above the grid.
This action opens the item's Class of Service data entry form, at which point the User can define the item's inputs by following the protocol established earlier in this section. Once all required fields have been satisfied, click the button at the bottom of the form.
Admin Users can delete an existing class of service by selecting the appropriate item on the Class of Service grid and clicking the button located immediately above the grid. The deleted Class of Service will no longer appear as an option when users encounter a Class of Service data field throughout the application.
Order
The 'List Values Order' form is made available anytime there is a series of options in a drop-down that can have differing orders within that drop-down. An example of this is on the Admin > System Tables > Class of Service grid. Simply select an item to move and drag it it else where in the list to reorder the items.
